The Jujubes

Nominated for UK Blues Album of the Year 2023

One vocal, one blues harp and two guitars are what makes The Jujubes authentic yet unique, raw stripped-back blues sound.

The Jujubes made their mark on the blues scene last year with their debut album “Where are we now” receiving great reviews, a two-page spread in Blues in Britain magazine and radio play on at least three stations every day for the following 8 months.

They even had Ross King the LA correspondent for Good Morning Britain and Lorraine write about them saying:

“The debut album from The Jujubes has really cheered me up. If you love Blues, and let's face it, there is no better genre to capture the challenges of the past year or so - then you'll love them.  Lead singer Nikki Brooks has a voice made for the genre and it will send shivers up your spine. Have a listen."

They are now riding high with their second album “Raging Moon” going straight in at number 2 on the IBBA (Independent Blues Broadcasters Association) chart and holding the position for over two months. IBBA also named it named album of the month, along with many other radio stations like The Bear Blues Show giving it the same accolade.

The Jujubes having been so welcomed onto the Blues circuit have supported Ian Siegal and played at some of the most established Blues festivals in the UK prompting Blues Matters magazine to state:

“A band for the blues connoisseur indeed. Their take on Son House’s Death Letter was stunning, the interplay between the guitarists was mesmerising at times, and the vocals haunting yet sultry, another talented group to watch out for. Raw genuine blues played from the heart”.
Bluesmatters magazine (York Blues Festival 2022 review).

Quotes from reviews for “Raging Moon”

“This is a lip curling foot stomping second offering from the London trio. If you like your Blues blended to a deeper shade then this is for us. This is swaggering Blues deeper than a lunar crater"
Emerging Rock Bands Magazine

“The Jujubes deliver a dark, down and dirty set of tunes that grab at the listener and moves them. There is a seminal and deep set of emotions that run from song to song.  If you are looking for something a little different, then this is certainly something you should load up and give a spin to!"
Blues Blast Magazine

“The Jujubes return with a beautiful new album of heavyweight musical class. They evoke the blues with the resolute taste of a minimalist painter.”
Rock-n-Reel Magaziine

“What the Jujubes have created with “Raging Moon” is such a fresh injection of traditional blues, combined with that British ingredient, that little something you can’t quite put your finger on, that grabs you from the star and demands your attention”
Rockposer.com

“Raging Moon has all the ingredients of a top-notch blues record, killer slide guitar, echoes of Robert Johnson, tasty acoustic blues guitar licks and the rasping world-weary vocals".
Downatthecrossroads

"If Siouxsie Sioux had ever had a notion to make a stripped-back blues album, it might have turned out something like Raging Moon.  And this is a good thing.

Raging Moon is a confident, very well-executed album, which caught me unawares.  But you know the score now, dear reader.  The Jujubes deserve your attention - and I mean right now."

Blues Enthused

"This is a real cool album that just throws everything at us in the form of melodies with soul and crisp clean chords that are all wrapped in sensational vocals that really pull you in and don't let you go. we are just listening in awe as this incredible 3 piece put us through our paces with their infectious brand of blues rock that is just pulsing through."
Jace Media

"The Jujubes have dealt with the “difficult” second album with aplomb”
